Great Ideas Exchange
Back by popular demand! This innovative session gives conference participants the opportunity to learn “great ideas” from the field, in a fast-paced, "mini-workshop" format, similar to speed-dating. Don’t miss this showcase of best ideas from your peers in the mentoring field!
Do you have a Great Idea? Or have you heard about a Great Idea that you would like someone else to share? Share your great ideas with your peers during the 2010 Minnesota Mentoring Conference on October 25! Or, nominate a peer to share their great idea, and we will follow up with them.
The Great Ideas Exchange will take place first thing in the morning and will last 45 minutes. During that time, Great Idea presenters will share their Great Idea several times, allowing up to 8 minutes for each mini-workshop.
Conference participants will receive a list of Great Ideas when they arrive at the conference. Each Great Idea will be assigned a table number. Participants can decide in advance which Great Ideas they are most interested in hearing about and move around to those presentations during the exchange. No sign-ups or pre-registration – just find the tables that correspond with the great ideas you want to learn about and cross your fingers for a chair! If the table you want to visit is really crowded, go listen to another great idea, then go back to the crowded one in the next round. Presenters will deliver the same information each time.
At the end of the Great Ideas Exchange, participants should leave with at least four great ideas—if they move around a lot, they could get even more. Participants will receive a one-sheet handout from each Great Idea which will include contact information for the presenter. In addition, conference participants will be able to access handouts from all of the Great Ideas after the event.
