MPM's Quality Partners

The Mentoring Partnership of Minnesota's (MPM) Quality Partners are mentoring programs that have demonstrated their commitment to quality program practices by completing the Quality Mentoring Assessment Path (QMAP®).  To highlight these organizations, MPM offers public recognition, among other benefits.

There are two levels of partnership available to Minnesota youth mentoring programs - Dedicated and Expert.  To become a Dedicated Partner, a program must:

  1. Complete the online QMAP assessment,
  2. Participate in a review with MPM staff to create a 12-month Improvement & Innovation Plan,
  3. And return a signed Statement of Accuracy to MPM.

Expert Partners must also meet these requirements, but in addition, they must follow 100% of the best practices outlined in the QMAP (although not all best practices must have a rating of 5 on the implementation quality scale - there is always room for advancement). Bolder Options, as seen in the video below, is an example of one of our Expert Partners.

Recognition & Benefits

Completing the QMAP comes with a natural set of benefits.  It validates existing program quality and pinpoints areas for improvement.  Because of the way it helps programs follow best practices, QMAP ultimately advances the mentoring field, ensuring safe, positive experiences for youth and volunteers.

Still, MPM wanted to make sure mentoring programs get the recognition they deserve for committing to quality.  Therefore, Dedicated Partners receive the following additional benefits:
  • Priority listing and a detailed public profile featuring the Dedicated Partner quality badge on MPM’s "Find a Program" webpage
  • Recognition of demonstrated accountability and integrity for the sake of the giving public
  • Tools and resources to facilitate adherence to all QMAP practices
  • Access to funding opportunities through MPM to improve program quality
  • Priority consideration for award recognition from MPM
  • Eligibility for discounts* on training, products and publications
  • Special invitations to partners-only events
  • Connections to corporations/ business community initiatives
  • Ability to submit events for the public event calendar on MPM's website
  • Letters of support from MPM citing QMAP Partner status (upon request)
  • Networking opportunities with members from diverse regions and professions
  • Priority status to hear about new resources and events

In addition to the benefits outlined above, Expert Partners receive:

  • Approved use of MPM's 100% Best Practices quality seal
  • Highest priority listing and a detailed public profile featuring the 100% Best Practices quality seal on MPM’s "Find a Program" webpage
  • Public policy advocacy from MPM on behalf of the program
  • Leadership opportunities through MPM committee and/or board participation
  • Promotion with media outlets
* Discounts are offered at the discretion of MPM and are subject to change.

Mentoring programs that attain Dedicated Partner status can advance to Expert Partner status after they have made improvements and have 100% of best practices in place.  Once a program attains either partner status, they retain partnership for three years, after which partner status is reset until the QMAP is re-submitted.
