Youth Policy Alliance: Youth Day at the Capitol 2012
The Youth Policy Alliance thanks the hundreds of youth and adults who participated in the 2012 Youth Day at the Capitol on February 21. MPM is a collaborative partner of the Youth Policy Alliance, a collection of state-wide organizations intent on influencing legislator’s support of youth in Minnesota.
Young people who participate in quality youth development programs are more likely to be:
- Active citizens
- Settled in stable personal relationships
- Employed and economically self-sufficient
- Happy with their lives as young adults
However, not all elected officials know this, so it is OUR job to ensure they do! You are being asked to set meetings with your elected officials and get them on-board as champions of a supportive youth policy in Minnesota. On February 21, 2012 we encourage you and your co-workers to bring mentors & mentees to the Capitol to change the direction on youth policy in Minnesota. It begins with a quick orientation at 9:00 in the great hall.
We have assembled everything you need to make the day go smoothly; all you need to do is make it happen.
