Mentoring Immigrant & Refugee Youth

This training session takes participants through the process of designing and implementing high quality programming and relationships for diverse groups of immigrant and refugee youth. Using material from Mentoring Immigrant & Refugee Youth: A Toolkit for Program Coordinators, participants will gain knowledge and skills around the following areas:

  • Understanding assets and challenges of immigrant/refugee youth populations
  • Designing and planning inclusive programs and relationships
  • Managing a culturally competent mentoring program
  • Finding and preparing mentors to work with immigrant youth
  • Creating and supporting mentoring relationships

This interactive workshop will also offer a unique opportunity to network with other local mentoring professionals whose programs currently serve or have an interest in serving immigrant and refugee youth.
