| Preparing for a Mentoring Relationship Many mentoring programs focus significant attention on training and preparing new mentors for their relationship with a young person. But how are programs preparing young people – new mentees - to make the most of their mentoring relationships? The Mentoring Partnership of Minnesota’s Executive Youth Board (EYB) set out to answer that question and based upon what they learned, decided to develop new resources and provide a place to share ideas for preparing mentees for successful mentoring relationships.
EYB members who worked on this project were all current or former mentees themselves – so they were able to reflect on their own experiences to create a video that they felt addressed some of young people’s biggest concerns about beginning a mentoring relationship. Youth can explore these training resources with guidance from a program manager or parent, or they can explore them on their own - just give them this URL:
