2012 Collaborative Mentoring Webinar Series

MPM's Training Institute will be teaming up with Education Northwest/National Mentoring Center, Friends For YouthOregon Mentors and other partners in the coming year to deliver a monthly webinar series for mentoring professionals.  Each quarter, the series will feature webinars focused on sharing ideas for mentoring practice, mentoring research "round-ups" and highlights of innovation in the mentoring field.  By combining our individual efforts and collective wisdom, we will be able deliver even better webinars to a wider audience of mentoring professionals.

Dr. Roger Jarjoura, a professor with Indiana University-Purdue University, will describe his journey from researcher to mentoring program manager as the head of the "Aftercare for Indiana through Mentoring" program (AIM), a re-entry program targeting juveniles in the correctional system transitioning back into their communities. Dr. Jarjoura will talk with webinar attendees about his "transformative mentoring" approach and respong to questions about his tips for both mentors and program coordinators who are working with high risk and system-involved youth.

Dr. Jarjoura was a research fellow at the 2011 Summer Institute on Youth Mentoring at Portland State University.
