MPM's Polly Roach Receives MAVA's Excellence Award

Minnesota Association for Volunteer Administration Awards Annual Excellence Awards to Polly Roach

Maplewood, MN— the Minnesota Association for Volunteer Administration will award its annual excellence awards at the MAVA Annual Business Meeting on November 3, 2011 to outstanding volunteers and leaders of volunteers. The MAVA Mary Wiser Award for Leadership in the Field of Volunteer Resources is awarded to Polly Roach, Vice President of Strategic Services at the Mentoring Partnership of MN. 

Polly Roach is Vice President, Strategic Services, at Mentoring Partnership of Minnesota, working with youth-adult mentoring programs around the state to provide resources and technical assistance and strengthen efforts to serve youth in need of caring adults. She was a founding member of the Metro Mentor Network and one of the first recipients of the Angel of Mentoring Awards. Polly has been dedicated to the values of best practices and program quality all of her professional life. She has been involved in developing standards of practice at several points. Polly values professionalism and devotes much of her career to helping others develop their skills. She often trains for both the Mentoring Partnership and for MAVA and is an integral member of the MAVA Strategic Directions Committee. Her commitment to youth service is profound and has led her to the field of mentoring. She lives that value by being a volunteer with youth personally. Polly is an excellent representative of high quality in the field and a deserving recipient of the Mary Wiser Award.
